It's about time ::

The Brat scored a victory today of which he can be at least slightly proud. I wanted to get online this afternoon, but The Brat, as usual came home, walked in the garage door (perhaps his house key doesn't work), and signed onto his computer. Then he got up and went in the bathroom to shower. Wanting to get online, I checked the phone line and saw that he had left his computer signed on as usual. I went in his room to sign him off, but the little pervert has his computer password protected (what are you trying to hide pervo?). He walked in his room as I was trying to sign him off, which set off a fight. He screamed at me, I screamed at him, and when I went to push him out of the way, he decided he was going to wrestle me down. Yep, he succeeded. The Brat finally pinned me down. Now if only he'd learn to have even the smallest amount of respect for other people he might almost be a viable semblance of an Australopithecus.

It's a good day to ramble ::

Good morning everyone! Today is Thursday, June 17, 2004, and in my book, that means it's a good day to write about all sorts of unconnected things in a little routine that I sometimes like to refer to as rambling.

First order of business comes from last night. Corey picked my ass up about 8. We checked out the Rogan's tent sale because Corey wanted to buy running shoes. I told him to say screw it and just buy some Chuck Taylor All Stars. He didn't listen to me and couldn't find anything he liked. We then tried Scheel's. That's one big fucking store. I still insisted he buy the Chuck Taylor's. He still couldn't find any he liked. He's kind of cheap. We also looked at guns and knives and disc golf supplies. Then we went to the Y. It was too early to go home, so we gave old Jekyll's a try. It turned out to be a good choice, because seated at the bar we met trivia master Phred. We three had lots to talk about like school, trivia, and film. Well, mostly Phred and I, actually.

What's the story with the Friendster renaissance? I hadn't visited Friendster in months, and now all of a sudden in the last month I've been getting one add Friendster request after another. I think I doubled my Friendsters in a week. I'm hearing from lots of people from whom I hadn't heard in a long time - especially people from Minneapolis. Talk about your awkward reunions!

I'm getting my hair cut today. That's actually the biggest reason why I'm up so damn early. I fell asleep on the couch again last night, where there is no alarm clock, so I figured that when I woke up, I should probably stay up, so that way I wouldn't have to worry about falling back asleep and sleeping through my appointment.

My dad must be in some rush to get rid of me. Last night, he, my mom, and I went out for pizza at Butch's in Kimberly. While we were waiting on our food, my dad started asking what I was going to do with all of my stuff in the basement. He wasn't too happy when I told him that I had no intention of ditching it all just yet.

I'm thinking about taking up skateboarding. It's something that I've wanted to do since I was in junior high, I've brought it up a number of times, but I've never actually followed through. Maybe I need to just act upon my word for once, go to the damn skate shop, buy a board, and do what I've been saying I was going to do for years. Yeah, I'm ambitious, right?

Wow, we're only 4 days away from the start of summer. I could go for summer right about now. Actually, what I could really go for is an end to all this damn rain. I think everybody is sick of the rain. All this rain... grr!

A theatre to myself ::

I went to the cinema this afternoon to see Saved! and ended up having the whole room to myself. In fact, the guy at the box office was confused when I first told him which movie had come to see. Apparently, it must not be too big of a hit around here. I understand that everyone needs to see the big blockbusters before the next set get released, but frankly, they're missing a pretty good movie by skipping Saved!.

The most bizarre thing was actually the trailers shown before the film. Who were they targeting? Being the only one in the theatre, I would have to assume the target audience was... well... me. I wasn't impressed. They showed a different version of the trailer for Anchorman than the one we've all seen 10,000 times already, but that seemed to be the only movie I would actually see. De-lovely looks good in an artistic sort of way, but nothing I would blow $8 on, while the other films were just confusing or stupid. I don't get it.

Happy Flag Day ::

For those of you keeping score at home, it was exactly one year ago today that I and this website were featured in an article in the Post-Crescent. How has my life changed in the last year thanks to my new-found notariety? Well, I have this great new jet set lifestyle that sees my partying with P. Diddy in New York and getting invited to every hot party in L.A. Okay, not really. Instead, I just ran into a lot of people who said, "Hey, I saw you in the paper. Hadn't thought about you since high school...." I've moved on (sort of).

I'll bet you're asking yourself now exactly how I am spending my Flag Day this year. Well, I got my ass up at the crack of dawn to get new tires on the front of my car. Wow, traction can be fun. Now I'm checking my email and posting. And what do I get to do next? Go to work, of course. Wow, how much fun is that? I'm salivating at the possibilities.

Wow, it's been three weeks ::

Good morning kiddos!

Somehow, three weeks magically disappeared, and yet I didn't manage to post even one entry to this blog. Of course, that would usually signify that absolutely nothing has transpired in the last 3 weeks. If that was your guess, then you would be pretty much correct. I'd like to suggest that my life is more interesting than all of that, but it's really not. Work has taken such a heavy toll on me that I don't even check my email more than once a week.

The last few days have been interesting. I got a phone call from Jonathan yesterday. He called to see if I wanted to go with him to the Twins-Yankees game in NY on the last day of the season. Like, duh! I called him back and told him of my interest, and he called me back around dinner time to tell me he had ordered the tickets.

I received an email from Phisch sometime in the last week. I was quite surprised to get that, but also delighted. I had been meaning to write him a letter, but had never gotten around to it. In fact, I haven't heard a word from him since I last visited 5 years ago.

I signed my life away today. I submitted the electronic signature on my $50K worth of loans for next year alone. I'm going to be in debt until the day that I die.

Sorry if anyone tried to access this site on Wednesday or Thursday and was unable to. Due to a lapse of memory, I allowed the registration of the domain name to expire on Tuesday. Oops. I submitted my money on Thursday evening and now the site is back up. I've been sort of strapped for the cash in the last two weeks and I just let it slip my mind.

Well, I'd love to ramble on some more, but I really should just do the things I need to and go to bed. As if it isn't late enough already!
