Back to the grindstone ::

I started back at work today for the first time after my 9-day vacation. I wouldn't exactly say that I was excited to be back at work, but my time off did give me the opportunity to get my head screwed back on straight and be able to deal with work again. Of course, wouldn't you know that my first day back on the job would be so damn cold.

I've been doing a little thinking about what it is that I want to do with this website. I know I mentioned once before that I wasn't sure that I wanted to continue doing the blog. Well, I will continue doing the blog, but there will be some major changes. I'll get into all of this more in depth at a later date as I start cementing some of these plans, but it'll all come in due time. I just need to get myself listed above the Drudge Report on Dave's favorites list.

Feels so good ::

I met Corey down at the Y on Wednesday, where we both signed up for memberships. We went back yesterday, when I worked out for the first time in a long, long time. My shoulders are a little sore, but outside of that, I don't hurt at all. I was worried that I would wake up this morning in a world of pain. I'm headed down there again this afternoon, as this will be the last opportunity I get until Monday to make my way down there. Trivia is almost here!

All y'all can kiss my ass ::

I had flipped the tv over to the Weather Channel earlier today to see the forecast. The temperature here in Appleton - this was about 11 am CST - was -9º F. The Weather Channel was showing images of people in Washington DC all bundled up for the cold and talking about the "chilly temperatures." The current temperature in DC at that time? An oh-so-frigid 44º F. Kiss my ass. Come back and talk to me again when it's -9º F with a windchill of -33º.

Some good news for once ::

Dave, you drunken bastard... enjoy your bagel to this:

I got some good news today upon arrival at work. The good news is that I got off all the days I requested, meaning that I have off from next Monday through Tuesday the week after - a total of 9 days. Yay! That means that I have for all of trivia, plus a few days before which I might use for a trip of some sort. We'll see what happens.

Down at the Garage ::

Corey and I went on down and checked out Tom's Garage tonight. It seems like a cool enough place. The interior is actually still under construction, but I think they just wanted to be done and open by New Year's Eve no matter what. The main room is definitely large enough for anything that they might actually need at this point. I mean, let's be serious: it'd be nothing short of a major coup to draw any real musical act in there anytime soon. Even so, it's obvious that unless they have a much larger starting capital than we realize, they're definitely going to have to have some success and start turning a profit soon. One can see that a lot of money has already been sunk into remodeling the building and there is still a lot to be done, but the money appears to have been well spent. It'll take a while for them to establish any real atmosphere in there, but with a little success, a cool atmosphere is sure to follow.

The Conversion Van ::

Yes, that's the nickname given to me tonight by some patron of the Stadium View bar in Green Bay - Conversion Van. Oooooooo... did I do some drinking tonight. It's a good thing that I'm not driving, because otherwise I probably would have spent the night in Green Bay. Yes, it was one of those nights. Oh yeah.

Another year, another dollar ::

I see now why the bars have a closing time - the staff gets a little cranky by 4:30 am.

Suprisingly enough, I wasn't all that drunk for as much as I had to drink last night, yet I still feel like ass today. Yay to drinking! Nay to working!

In something of an early Epiphany, Matt and Eric were reunited last night. The two of them apologized to each other and talked about what they've been upto since they began their silly feud years ago.

I got a new calendar for Christmas from Matt and Carrie. Most of every day on the calendar lists an all-important day in African-American history. I feel so cultured now.

Okay, well, Happy New Year everyone.
