chapter 10: blueflower.org v7.0
(march 2003 to june 2003)

This was little more than a stop-gap - sticking my finger in the dike, if you will - to allow me to escape the last version and bridge me until I could get around to a fresh redesign. On March 21, 2003, I threw together a new design in a couple short hours and posted it quickly.

I didn't really have a lot of time. I had to go down to Memphis for two weeks for more training for work on March 24, and I wanted a new design up before I left. In a couple hours between eating dinner and going out to the bars, I put this together.

This version really isn't much different than the last version, but it looked much, much better. I migrated the logo from the right to the left and replaced those stupid hearts on the navigation menu with colons. The background went from white to black, which actually made the orange and blue look pretty cool. I made the background of the blog blue and added a border with the rounded edges that actually worked.

It wasn't all perfect. The electric blue color of the links from the previous version stayed. They didn't contrast enough with the blue background of the weblog, which made them hard to read. I would have been better off just going with a different color, but this version was thrown together with such haste that I wasn't too concerned. I mean, it still couldn't be worse than it had been before.

By June I had finally found time to redesign the site and this version was gone.
