I have lots of places that I'd like to go in the next month or so and lots of things I'd like to see. Because I haven't a clue as to when the next time might be that I'll make it to Minneapolis, I want to "road trip" out there on one of my weekends (which consist of Wednesdays and Thursdays). Seeking a good excuse, I saw that Modest Mouse is playing First Avenue on Wednesday, July 28. All right, a date I can do! Then I went to the First Avenue website and received my disappointment: sold out. Damn you First Avenue! Now, I know that Sonic Youth is the same night across Block E at the Quest that same night, but given the choice, I would much rather see Modest Mouse. The next-best thing (or maybe just as cool) would be to see Wilco in Milwaukee. Molly asked if I wanted to go, but I had to turn her down. Well, now one of my coworkers wants me to work for him on July 29. I told him I would if he'll work for me on August 2 so I can go see Wilco. We'll see what happens.
