After calling around to most of the local school districts, and not understanding why they were telling me to come back to them after I've taken the substitute teaching course, it finally occured to me that I don't need one of them to sponsor me to take the course. No, I just need one of them to sponsor my application for my license after I've taken the course. Feeling like a complete dope, I wrote out the check for $65 and dropped my application in the mail this morning. Hopefully the course isn't already full because I procrastinated so long. If nothing else, I know of at least two districts who would be willing to submit the application for the license on my behalf.
