Talk About Rookies and September Call-Ups...! ::
How about the Twins beating lowly Detroit yesterday 2-0 with a line-up that included Mohr, Kielty, LeCroy, Cuddyer, Lamb, Valentin, Restovich, and Sears in addition to Rivas and Pierzynski (both only in their second full seasons) and Hocking (the hardened veteran)? On the other hand, the pitching staff was just the opposite, featuring Mays, Jackson, Guardado (who set the Twins single season saves record in the game with his 43rd), and the youngster Santana. It hurts to be without over half your starters, but if the young guys can win games, we'll take 'em!
