Okay, yeah, so I knew they'd probably lose 1 or 2, but I just wanted to pretend it wouldn't be true. One thing that would make a big difference, and I see Molly noticed this too, would be if Jacques Jones would get a hit or two. The problem is - and it seems nobody is taking to him about it - that he wants to kill every pitch. Instead of only swinging at good pitches and instead of taking singles and doubles when the pitchers are giving them away he is hacking at everything. Word is already out among the Angels pitchers: throw three pitches in the dirt and Jacques will swing at all three. When he does finally connect, instead of laying a nice pop into a gap, he hits a high pop fly to one of the outfielders because he's trying to hard to hit homers instead of just taking bases. With the pitches he's been getting this postseason he'd have a BA somewhere around .400 minimum if he'd just take a few singles and doubles. The Twins aren't the Yankees, but Jacques seems to think they are.

Anyway, Friday night we get Milton on the mound - I erred yesterday after reading somewhere else that Radke was going to start on Friday and Milton on Saturday - and hopefully we can turn this sucker around again. At least 1 win this weekend in Anaheim brings the series back to Minnesota next week.
