Yay for Bruininks! ::
Best qualified person to continue the path of random expensive construction products?
I'm hoping this guy is much more fiscally conservative with student money.
Yes, Yudof may have spent lots of money, but it's money that needed to be spent. Sure, I'm as pissed as the next guy that I needed to pay for facilities that I'll never get to use, but on the other hand, now that I've graduated I've earned a new level of respect for the U. I mean, what does my degree mean if the school goes to shit and becomes an also-ran? There were lots of departments that needed new facilities and/or equipment and Yudof came and did the dirty work of spending money. I know he takes lots of shit for it, but I think he turned the school in a positive direction. There are still several buildings that need work (Nicholson, Johnston, etc.), but I hear the U has placed their smallest budget request in a decade with the legislature and I think we're out of the woods and into a new era of better fiscal conservatism after the school gained the improvements it badly needed.
