I'm a (Temporary) Working Man ::

I started a new job on Wednesday - a temp job - which I'm not wholely excited about, but at least it's work and it's money. Employment agency #2 called me Tuesday afternoon and asked if, even though it's not what I was looking for, I'd be interested in working as a temp in a small light industrial firm. Knowing full-well that I've had my limit with my father's and mother's constant nagging that I need to find employment, I agreed to take on the job. It's supposed to be about a two-week assignment for a company called IntelliCAM (short for Intelligent Computer Assisted Manufacturing) Custom Products. The bulk of their work is making custom signage for local customers. I worked Wednesday (and will need to finish Thursday) on a project making stainless steel ID tags for presumably a construction company. I spent the day cutting the steel, punching holes and rounding the edges, engraving ID numbers with a mill, and inking the numbers. It's boring, monotonous work, but at least it is work. If the employment agency finds the job I'm looking for in the mean time I'll leave the assignment early to start the job I'm really seeking. IntelliCAM seems like a nice enough place, and the people who work there are pretty cool, but it's obviously not what I'm looking for in a job. Anyway, at least I have something for the time being.

Outside of work my life is pretty boring lately. With everyone else either in school or differently occupied with work or other social engagements, I've been spending a lot of time at home. Thanks to the library I have been getting my fill of movies. I've also been observing as my mom disassembles Legoland. My room of Legos is being torn apart so my parents can use the space for other storage. It's a fair deal, as I never go in there anymore anyway, but it's another vestage of my childhood disappearing forever. It's not like we're getting rid of the Legos or anything; they're just being taken apart. At some point we'll have to clean them all (they're covered in dust and some sort of disgusting film) and then they'll be packed away until I move out and get a place of my own again.

I'm pretty hopped-up on caffeine right now from having sat at GW and sipped coffee for a few hours, but I need to drain it quickly so I can get to bed. I have to be to work at 8 and morning comes quickly these days you know. Nighty night.
